A while ago I read this rather amusing fiction story about Google and what they will do with all their data. It was a great read and I passed it on to a few friends, and a rash of bashing on a Google group I hang out at brought it back to memory. The AdSense support forum is always full of people crying about how Google screwed them, took their money, disabled their account for no reason, etc. This got some of us thinking and one other forum member had some good points.
Most notably, why would Google disable an account for no reason? I mean, Google makes money every day on the sites showing their ads, unless there was a valid reason, why would they? In addition, they make incredible amount of money legitimately, why would they risk a public black eye by ripping people off?
It just doesn't make sense to me. I am pretty sure a few good publishers do get caught in crossfire sometimes, it happens, but on the whole I have found if you sit and talk to these disgruntled web site owners, or look at their sites, you can pretty accurately surmise why they have been disabled. Not always, but often.
No matter what ad publishing system you use, follow the rules, it's much better for long term revenue. Actually read the terms of service and program policies. There are perfectly good reasons for those rules, no matter what system you use.
