Don't Forget About Freeware

The recent years of a strong and growing open source, freeware community has been producing increasingly impressive applications that can save you and your organization a great deal of money.

It would behoove you to check it out and save yourself literally hundreds of dollars. Dump Microsoft Office, instead, go for the free, and very powerful options. Office productive applications are a requirement in any office, Microsoft charges hundreds of dollars for theirs. OpenOffice charges nothing, and it does everything MS Office does, plus, it can save files in MS Office format to share with other offices or business partners that still use MS Office.

There are also free applications available to protect your network from viruses and spyware infections, which can save you money over time for not only the programs you buy, but the annual subscriptions that go along with them.

Do much graphic design or web work? There are free options for you there as well.

Freeware has you covered at every angle, don't ignore it as a gimmick. At one time it was, today, freeware is a powerful and very viable option for use at every level of business from startup to the enterprise.
